Google pulled ‘millions’ of junk Play Store ratings in one week
Google is just as frustrated with bogus app reviews as you are, and it’s apparently bending over backwards to improve the trustworthiness of the feedback you see. The company instituted a system this year that uses a mix of AI and human oversight to cull junk Play Store reviews and the apps that promote them, and the results are slightly intimidating. In an unspecified recent week, Google removed “millions” of dodgy ratings and reviews, and “thousands” of apps encouraging shady behavior. There are a lot of attempts to game Android app reviews, in other words.
Nokia X Design Revealed in a New Promotional Poster; Price Leaked
Starting with the teasers by Chinese retailer Suning.com. These have given us a clearer look at the Nokia X’s design, something that was teased by the company last month revealing a bezel-less display and an iPhone X-like notch. A banner by the retailer reveals a glass and aluminium body, a vertical dual rear camera setup, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and, of course, a notch at the front. A slight bottom chin with Nokia branding is also visible. As per the banner, Suning.com requires to send in entries for a contest that will be held from May 3 till May 20.
Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco Now Available in India: Price, Specifications
Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco are now available for purchase in India. Both new smartphones developed by HMD Global were unveiled globally back in March and went for pre-orders in the country earlier this month. The Nokia 7 Plus is available through Amazon India, while the Nokia 8 Sirocco is on sale at Flipkart. The handsets are also available through the online Nokia Shop as well as via select retail outlets, including Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, Croma, and Reliance Digital among others. HMD Global has also included a bunch of launch offers to persuade customers.

WhatsApp Payments Now Lets You Scan QR Code to Send Money
WhatsApp has added a new payments feature for the Android beta version of the app, which will allow users to transfer money by scanning QR codes. This WhatsApp feature is in addition to the recently added ‘Send to UPI ID’ feature, and adds more functionality to the payments function of the world’s most popular messaging app. Apart from this, there are more WhatsApp features reportedly spotted on the Android beta app, namely Advanced GIF Search and Stickers Search, but those are disabled by default. This is the latest in a long line of features that are likely coming to the main app soon, once the bugs spotted in beta are fixed.

Huawei Honor 7C With Face Unlock, 18:9 Display Launched: Price, Specifications, Features
Huawei brand Honor on Monday announced the launch of its latest budget smartphone in China – the Honor 7C. The handset comes with an HD+ display that has an 18:9 aspect ratio. It also comes with Face Unlock capabilities and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Additionally, the Honor 7C offers portrait mode on both the front as well as the rear camera. It will go on sale in the Chinese market starting Tuesday, March 13. There is currently no update on an India launch or, for that matter, launch in any other market.

Amazon will soon stop selling all Nest products
Nest products won’t be sold by Amazon.com any longer once current stock runs out, according to a report from Business Insider. Amazon last year declined to offer some of Nest’s newer products like the Nest Cam IQ and latest-generation smart thermostat. After weeks of simply ignoring the products and being unresponsive to Nest, Amazon informed the company of its decision by phone late in the year and said the directive “came from the top,” something Nest took to mean it had been handed down by CEO Jeff Bezos. There has been no direct confirmation of this, however.
